For the Interpretation Project, I wanted to be able to sculpt something out of clay, and choosing a piece of art to work from was more challenging that i first thought. I decided on Salvador Dali's "Dream of a Virgin" because i felt that it gave me a lot to work with, and in multiple different directions, should my goal with it change half way through.
What I liked most about this piece was that there were things that were quite large, spouting from things that were far smaller, and the idea of having one seemingly harmless thing house something else that is great and peculiar and violent.
my goal with the sculpture is to make something seemingly normal that also has its own surprise.
